11 Aug Shipping Products Safely
When we set up RMA’s (Return Merchandise Authorization) and send out RMA e-mails, we send a set of instructions about how to package up your products. This photo gives a better idea of what we mean.
As you can see, one smaller box is placed inside of a larger box, and packing peanuts are used between the two boxes. You can also use newspaper, bubble wrap, or just about anything to fill-in the space between the two boxes. Doing this will cushion the shipment from impact, and help ensure that the product will arrive to us in the same condition that it was sent–just needing a new part, and not needing “cosmetic surgery”.
Some of our packaging (such as the original box for a printer, scanner or MSR), is not meant to be shipped “on its own”, as it is very thin, single-walled cardboard. Please be aware that POS-X cannot be held responsible for damage suffered during the shipping process–damage claims must be handled through the shipping company (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.). However, as you can see above, it is very easy to protect yourself from having damage occur by taking a few extra minutes out to make sure your package is double-boxed and cushioned from impact.
